ReplyDeleteInteresting to see Kaptur’s work discussed alongside Ricciardi’s—there’s a real tension between preservation and the pressure to modernize that still feels relevant in Palm Springs today. The clubhouse in particular seems to carry that “unfinished” honesty you mention, which makes restoration tricky but important. I’ve spent time in a Palm Springs vacation house nearby, and it really changes how you notice these details on site rather than just in photos.
